Overview
The sanctuary is named after Churdhar peak. Churdhar peak (elevation of 3647 meters; 11,965 feet) is the highest peak in the Sirmour district and is also the highest peak in the outer Himalayas. The peak has great religious significance for the people of armor, Shimla, Chaupal, and Solan of Himachal Pradesh, and Dehradun of Uttrakhand. Churdhar is a holy place related to Shri Shirgul Maharaj (Chureshwar Maharaj), a deity widely worshipped in Sirmour and Chaupal. The place can be approached by lots of routes but the main routes are from Nohradhar, Sirmour of 14 km, and Sarahan, Chaupal of 8 km.
The Churdhar Peak is mentioned in the book, The Great Arc, by John Keay but is referred to as The Chur. It is from this peak that George Everest made many astronomical readings and sightings of the Himalayan Mountains around 1834. He was the Surveyor General of India and did the initial survey of the full length of India as well as some very accurate measurements of the earth's curvature.

Itinerary
Day 1Shimla to Sarah (126km/ 6hr)
Excursion from Shimla to Sarah.
On the way breathe in the vibe of upper Shimla, and witness the lush green deodar forest and valleys full of apple orchids.
After reaching Sarah village check into the homestay, freshen up, and move to visit Bijjat Maharaj Temple.
A twin tower temple famous for its architecture, traditional values, and a 100-year-old secret.
Overnight stay at the homestay.

Day 2Trek day
After breakfast, start your trek and witness the most beautiful trail that will lead you to your destination.
On the way witness the beautiful village of Sarah, and tall deodar trees, and feel the ecosystem at its very best.
Experience the altitude and power of wind at Kala bagh at the end of the trek.
Overnight stay at Churdhar top.

Day 3Descend day / Excrusion to Shimla
Wake up early morning and complete the last part of your trek, start climbing toward the top of the summit and try to catch the first ray of sunlight.
Experience the 360 view from the top, a view to remember for a lifetime.
Start descending, and have breakfast on the way down.
